We have seized vehicles and issued warnings as part of a proactive day of action against illegal and anti-social drivers in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Moorlands. Officers proactively patrolled hotspots on Friday (26 June), acting on intelligence and concerns raised by local residents. An off-road bike was seized on Sherwin Road, Burslem, after officers found it was suspected to be stolen. Whilst in Burslem, officers also seized an e-scooter which was seen being ridden on Scotia Road. A car on Leek Road, Stoke, and a motorbike in Chesterton were both seized for having no insurance. Officers also stopped a motorbike and gave the rider advice about displaying the registration plate correctly and gave two e-scooter riders advice about where they can be ridden legally. In total, 11 drivers were given traffic offence reports. Inspector Chris Moss, of the road crime team, said: “We worked proactively alongside local policing teams to gather and act on intelligence provided by local residents and search hotspot locations. “This was a productive day of action and I hope it shows we are taking robust action against those who use vehicles illegally or anti-socially across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Moorlands. “I would urge anyone with any information about where illegal vehicles are being kept or used to contact us.” Call 101 or use Live Chat on our website.
